Good luck.

Susan asks…

Why was coral valuable in ancient times? And why did Job contrast the value of wisdom as far above coral?

Job 28:18
No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

Ezekiel 27:16
Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

admin answers:

Coral is valuable in present times, it is a rare and difficult to obtain gem material.

Can I polish an agate burnishing tool?

I've got a few burnishing tools that I use for gilding. They are well taken care of, but I was curious, if I used a dremel attachment with a buffing wheel on it, and turned it on low, maybe using a little buffing compound, could I polish/clean them, without damaging them???

admin answers:

you could buffer them, but the compound may not be good for next project, may want to clean and rinse after buffering,

William asks…

can anyone give me directions to some decent agate beds near Fairburn, South Dakota?

looking to go rockhounding and i would like to find some too!!

admin answers:

The one we always went to was down near Custer and Hot Springs.

There's a sweet museum in Hill City with some very nice display pieces, as well as many local fossils and other nice geology things. It's called the Hill City Museum of Natural Sciences, or something like that.

Looking for a quality beading store?

I live in new haven ct and am looking for a quality beading store that will have spherical stone beads along the lines of dalmatian jasper, agate's, lapis lazuly, etc. Cool stones with good patterns. Are there any good stores in the new haven area? I'll travel as far as NYC and boston. Thanks!

They advertise seed beads, glass, Japanese Chech and more.
Try the above for a starter. Also put beads into your search engine and see how many "beads" you come up with. Some advertise on line and they have outlet stores so here is a chance for you to find someplace for you to go to or buy on line
