Are you trying to describe them to somebody in Morocco so that they can buy them for you? I would suggest just telling them in French or in Standard Arabic. They might have special words for it in the dialect but something so standard like precious stones....I kind of doubt it.
And really, if they know French it's pretty much the same for the most part but guys tend to be a bit more clueless there about these things. LOL

Book about dragons and people with semi precious stone names?
Ok, it sounds crazy but I read this fantasy book back when I was 17 so about 6 years ago. It was about a prince, his wife and their son living in a kingdom and there are dragons present. All I remember is a lot of references to semi precious stones - onyx, topaz etc. They may have been people's names or something.
Also, the prince is rebuilding a castle made out or rose pink colored stone for his wife.
Its a really sweet book. I really really want to find it and read it again as it brings back lots of lovely memories of sitting on the couch reading for days!!

Well I have no idea on what book you're talking about but, I just wanted to say that if you liked that book, then you will certainly like Eragon, Eldest, and Brisinger, by Chrishapher Paloni. (I think that's how you spell his name) Also, after your done, there is a movie about Eragon.
