Ruth asks…

Which of these male names goes with the other sibling names (for character)?

This is for a male character that is a twin. His twin sister's name is Lorna (Fox, Laurel, Bay, Lost, Forsaken) (LOR-nah, LOHR-nə, LAWR-nə). The meaning isn't really important as it doesn't define the character but I will put the meanings of the names anyway. The parents of the children chose the names because of the meanings but not for what they hoped the child would become. They chose them just because they liked the meanings and names.

Also these characters are all Princes & Princesses.

Other Siblings Names:

Eldest Sister: Shamar (Guard; Keep; Observe; Watch, Fennel, Precious Stone, Ready for Battle)

Second Sister: Jadzia (Strong & Beautiful, Jade, War Battle, Female Warrior, Princess)

Eldest Brother: Bryce (Swift, Speckled, Of Britain, English name originating as a surname taken to English by the French in the Middle Ages. Might be derived from the element bri (force, strength) or brígh (valor, strength)

Which of these following names goes with Lorna and other sibling names?

Lofton- Glorious, It is locational and originates from a now "lost" medieval village probably called "Loftun" or similar, the name translating as the house with an upper floor, at a time when few had them. LAWF-tən

Lydon- Descendant Of Lodan, From the Linden Tree Hill, This very interesting English surname is locational. It is derived from villages in Kent and the West Country of England and specifically the counties of Devon and Somerset. The place name and hence the later surname means the dweller at the place of the loud water, from the Olde English pre 7th century word "hlyde" meaning loud. In this context it probably described a waterfall, with the suffix of "-dun", meaning a hill or a place on a hill.

Luca (Legendary, Light, Bringer of Light, Form of Luke) (LOO-kə)

Athelstan- Noble Stone, Used by Anglo-Saxon royalty and revived somewhat by Sir Walter Scott's use of it in "Ivanhoe". Now rare. It was the name of King Athelstan the Glorious of England who reigned from 924 - 940 AD (10th Century). He was the first king of a united England and obtained the submission of the Welsh and Scots.) (AE-THEHLSTahN, ah-THUHL-stan)

Thanks!

If you look at this map

You can see that Africa and North Carolina used to be connected. Imagine they were touching at the mid ocean ridge in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and spread since then. The mountain building was formed from the compressional forces of a convergent boundary.

Michael asks…

In the New Testament period and in Revelation 17:3 what did the color scarlet signify?

Revelation 17:3,4

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

admin answers:

Scarlet, a red of brilliant hue, is found in references to cord or thread, cloth and apparel; also to sin. (Ge 38:28, 30; Nu 4:8; Jos 2:18; Jer 4:30; Mt 27:28; Isa 1:18) “The wild beast” described at Revelation 17 is scarlet colored (vs 3), distinguishing it from “the wild beast” of chapter 13. The harlot sitting on the scarlet-colored beast is arrayed in purple and scarlet. (Re 17:3-5) The vision thus pictorially symbolizes the royal claims of the “beast” and the luxury and royalty enjoyed by the woman riding it.
