Sharon asks…

When it comes down to it, life is such...?

In the pursuit of the smile on our own faces, armed with a heart to love but a mind to doubt. The sight of an angel instantly removing the rights and wrongs of the pasts that have pained us, taking us by the wrist, and guiding us into the vision of the most fairytale of futures. A day comes though where those futures are merely memories, and the tears from the eyes of the ones we love fall on our face as they watch us fall ill to those words of the worst of natures, the cancer, the death, the body is but a ride for the soul, once it releases it's own pains, we know that we are breaths away from the end of an era. But what era? There is no Bible to tell us what the destination of our lives are, the fate and the destiny one will see. The purpose.
There are those who will whisper legend, life is the book, you are the chapter, your ink is your step, and the world will read in years yet to come.
Disagree though, will those of the spiritual kind, I hear the world is the road to the life that is yet to come, a lord, who in his blessings has gifted our souls the body, and the mind, to walk on these sands and press our feet on the grass and gaze at the little dots in the sky, we are the lord's own, our purpose is to praise, the mighty will judge in the hereafter.
Precious hearts though will say it is to love, for the feeling of infatuation, the supreme wanting of another, to witness the touch and lips of that pretty creature, and for the ears to bear the joy of hearing the uttering of another's affection for you in return. Why is it so important for it to be returned? Love is measured by fullness, not by reception, said the wise man, and so heavy love filled with pain and passion is the purest, even unrequited, not the false love, a love fuelled by the selfish need to satisfy one's own heart. But is it so selfish? Is it wrong to pour those three words on to another simply because they do for you? Ah, unrequited love, the lord of the world of heart felt pain. There is a hole in my world so long as my eyes see your beauty as nothing short of perfection, and that vision will last me a lifetime, and so, I must prepare my heart for an eternity of searching for your hand, which I can't have, which I may have held once, which I may never have. Those locks falling in perfect harmony, and the sparkle of eyes, and a smile that puts the Earth at rest when it rises. You are perfect, and I promise to love you, though you shall never repeat after me.
Falling in your path are the stones, and gaps and hardship that threaten to take away hope and kill the will of the one who chases happiness, through the most moral ways. Always the good ones. But through and the end of it all, the counting of the paper, the illness and death of the ones that refuse to leave without taking a part of our hearts with them, the seldom helpful but often doubting minds we home, the woeful body, the evils of those who see no joy in the smiles of their fellows, the miracle of a new sound as a baby brings itself into the questionably welcoming world, the kiss of a lover, it's ability to throw us into the heavens for us to bath in the cheering of happiness but then drag us, often without time to even smell the joy, without mercy through the dark woods of pain and sadness, we can do nothing but humbly and gently produce, whether with a tear or with a smile, two short words, 'That's life'

This is amazing work, great job! When it comes down to it, life is about finding who you really are.

*Side note: I'm not sure if that answers your question or not, but that's how I think of life as.

Mary asks…

Why didn't Jesus say He was G-d?? Or did He??

esus literally was "God with us", God in human form

"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" -- which means, "God with us." -- Matthew 1:23 This had been prophesied in Isaiah 7:14.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. -- Isaiah 9:6

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death -- even death on a cross! -- Philippians 2:5

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him... For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. -- Colossians 1:15-20.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. -- Colossians 2:9-10

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. -- Hebrews 1:3

Scripture Shows Jesus and God are One

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. -- John 1:1

We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. -- 1 Corinthians 8:4-6

Jesus Said He and the Father Were One

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one." Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?" "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God." -- John 10:28-38.

"Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father... Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work." -- John 14:9

Bible Repeatedly Refers to Jesus as God

While we wait for the blessed hope -- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. -- Titus 2:13-14

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: -- 2 Peter 1:1

Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" -- John 20:28

Jesus Spoke with Authority as God

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. -- Matthew 7:24

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." -- Mark 2:4

I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." -- Matthew 12:6-8

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. -- Matthew 5:21-22

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. -- Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus Spoke from God's perspective

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'" -- Matthew 23:37

Scripture Provides Strong Evidence

If we believe that the Bible is the Word of God, the preceding Scripture quotations are strong evidence that Jesus is God incarnate.

admin answers:

God is in three persons.

1. GOD
The creator and one true king of every nation and tongue past, present, and future.
2. JESUS
Son of God came in the form of human to die for our sins and then three days later conquers death and goes back to heaven. (all so you and I can have everlasting life. A choice between Heaven and Hell.)
3. HOLY SPIRIT
Our guide here on earth since Jesus went back to Heaven. Teacher and Counselor walking with us hand and hand.

Yes. Jesus said it in so many words.

Sandy asks…

Why the double standards by the US?

The world with the US at the helm have been calling for Iran to stop the stoning to death of a woman who has been accused of adultery. Iran has been in worldwide media about this incident.
I know that in the bible (Deutronomy Chapter 22) it says

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
22:23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
22:24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

I understand that the law in the koran is similar.

Personally i am against the death penalty as i believe the right to life is precious, but i also understand that not everyone has the same view as me.

However, i read an article about a mentally retarded individual in the state of Virginia, US who will be executed on Thursday 23 September.
Clearly, if this woman is not right in the head, then the death penalty should not be an option.

Why the double standards?

Teresa Lewis?
She isn't retarded...
This is what she did
Virginia woman who used sex and money to persuade two men to kill her husband and her stepson to collect a $250,000 life insurance policy was scheduled Thursday to be executed in two months, which would be the first U.S. Execution of a woman in five years.
A judge set a Sept. 23 execution date for Teresa Lewis, 41, the only woman on Virginia's death row. She would be the first woman executed in the state in nearly a century.
Lewis offered herself and her 16-year-old daughter for sex to two men who committed the killings. She provided money to buy the murder weapons and stood by while they shot her husband, Julian Clifton Lewis Jr., 51, and stepson Charles J. Lewis, 25, in 2002 in Pittsylvania County in south-central Virginia.
Lewis rummaged through her husband's pockets for money while he lay dying and waited nearly an hour before calling 911.

Why did Martin Luther of the Protestant Reformation HATE Jews with such a passion ?

Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?---Martin Luther (Germany)

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews?
First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians.
Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed.
Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught.
Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

“I hope I shall never be so stupid as to be circumcised; I would rather cut off the left breast of my Catherine and of all women.” --- Martin Luther

“If we are to remain unsullied by the blasphemy of the Jews and not wish to take part in it, we must be separated from them and they must be driven out of the country.” – Martin Luther

Jesus did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a "brood of vipers"; furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today.------Martin Luther

Learn from this, dear Christian, what you are doing if you permit the blind Jews to mislead you. Then the saying will truly apply, "When a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the pit" [cf. Luke 6:39]. You cannot learn anything from them except how to misunderstand the divine commandments...------Martin Luther

St. John Chrysostom: “I know that many people hold a high regard for the Jews and consider their way of life worthy of respect at the present time... This is why I am hurrying to pull up this fatal notion by the roots ... A place where a whore stands on display is a whorehouse. What is more, the synagogue is not only a whorehouse and a theater; it is also a den of thieves and a haunt of wild animals ... not the cave of a wild animal merely, but of an unclean wild animal ... When animals are unfit for work, they are marked for slaughter, and this is the very thing which the Jews have experienced. By making themselves unfit for work, they have become ready for slaughter. This is why Christ said: “as for my enemies, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them and slay them before me’ (Luke 19.27).”

“I do insist on the certainty that sooner or later – once we hold power – Christianity will be overcome and the German Church established. Yes, the German church, without a Pope and without the bible, and Luther, if he could be with us, would give us his blessing.” (Adolf Hitler, Hitler’s speeches, edited by Prof. N.H. Baynes [oxford, 1942], pg. 369.)

"I thank heaven for a man like Adolf Hitler, who built a front line of defense against the anti-Christ of Communism." — Frank Buchman (1878-1961), U.S. evangelist, 1936

They all came along with their "new faith" and tried to sell it to the Jews. They said nice things about the Jews in an attempt to make the sale. But when the Jews would not buy, all three turned on the Jews and started saying evil about them.

If you think a woman scorned has a fury, just refuse a fanatics new religion and see what happens.

Therefore be on your guard against the Jews, knowing that wherever they have their synagogues, nothing is found but a den of devils in which sheer self-glory, conceit, lies, blasphemy, and defaming of God and men are practiced most maliciously and veheming his eyes on them.---------Martin Luther

Moreover, they are nothing but thieves and robbers who daily eat no morsel and wear no thread of clothing which they have not stolen and pilfered from us by means of their accursed usury. Thus they live from day to day, together with wife and child, by theft and robbery, as arch-thieves and robbers, in the most impenitent security.
--------Martin Luther

However, they have not acquired a perfect mastery of the art of lying; they lie so clumsily and ineptly that anyone who is just a little observant can easily detect it.

But for us Christians they stand as a terrifying example of God's wrath.-----Martin Luther

...but then eject them forever from this country. For, as we have heard, God's anger with them is so intense that gentle mercy will only tend to make them worse and worse, while sharp mercy will reform them but little. Therefore, in any case, away with them!-------Martin Luther

However, we must avoid confirming them in their wanton lying, slandering, cursing, and defaming. Nor dare we make ourselves partners in their devilish ranting and raving by shielding and protecting them, by giving them food, drink, and shelter, or by other neighborly acts..------Martin Luther

If we wish to wash our hands of the Jews' blasphemy and not share in their guilt, we have to part company with them. They must be driven from our country.-----Martin Luther

They [rulers] must act like a good physician who, when gangrene has set in proceeds without mercy to cut, saw, and burn flesh, veins, bone, and marrow. Such a procedure must also be followed in this instance. Burn down their synagogues, forbid all that I enumerated earlier, force them to work, and deal harshly with them, as Moses did...

If this does not help we must drive them out like mad dogs.----Martin Luther

Martin Luther: [ in his last sermon, four days before he died, ] called for practical measures: burn their synagogues, confiscate all books in Hebrew, prohibit Jewish prayers, force them to do manual labour, and drive them out of Germany.
