Donald asks…

How successful is the business model of having evening parties to sell?

I have a range of fashion jewellery which I am thinking about marketing by holding evening parties. It includes sterling silver goods, semi precious stones etc in neckalce, ear ring, bracelet styles.
The question I have is what do I need to be aware of if I was to set up a small network of agents, probably women, to buy the goods from me to sell in a party setting, similar to the Tupperware/ Ann Summers type of party?
Any advice welcomed

Works really well if you have a large circle of friends (school / colledge / uni / work places etc.) that you have kept in touch with, and they in turn have a good circle of friends (that do not overlap yours too much)

The secret is to ensure each 'party' is made up of 'friends of friends' -

Your own friend will be getting a commission and hosts the 'party' (with your help) and invites all their own friends (but not yours 🙂 ) ... This way you are essentially selling to strangers and so have no temptation to give stuff away at cut price or on 'I'll pay you later' basis ...

You might want to start with a 'get to know the product' party for your own friends = where you show the product explain how the commission works and ask them to host parties .. You must also sell them some product at 'after commission' prices (it's vital for the 'host' themselves to be using/wearing the product at their party = nothing convinces other people than personal endorsement and enthusiasm for the product)

You need to attend each party in person and deal with the cash side of things - both to avoid any 'pay you later' situations and so your friend dosn't start to think "If I'm doing all the work, I should get all the profits"

PS another thing to consider is letting your friends know that you will be bringing the drink to the party = helps justify why you are collecting the money and after a few bottles of wine it's amazing how easy it is to get the 'buying' mood going ...

How to control or increase the effect the 7 circles of energy which called "chakras"?

i need to know refernces of procedure and sites where i can get details.
i need to know the precious stones that serve each chakra and how to use them.
how to notice the difference.. use examples please

admin answers:

Clear or rose/pink quartz crystal or amethyst (purple quartz) can be used on all the chakras or in healing/energy work. You can purchase these at a rock shop and start out using 1-2 inch stones (.50 - 1.00 each). Lie in a comfortable position on your back and place 1-2 stones over each chakra for 15-20 min or longer. Depending on why you're asking, there are different techniques you can use including breathwork, color therapy (meditating on diff colors), accupressure, Reiki, ect. Some techniques are more effective for some problems or some people than others. It would help to know if you are asking because you are ill, or practicing yoga, or are just curious. What you are really wanting to stimulate is the flow of "kundalini" and as for controlling it, you really can't that much once it's activated and you can develop problems after it becomes "activated". There are many websites out there related to energy work. Go to your fav search engine and type in: (chakras, gemstones) or (kundalini, stimulate, gemstones) or (chakras, stimulate, healing) or related words or phrases. You will find the websites you need. This is also referred to as "energy work". Please read up on kundalini and problems before getting started so you'll know what to look out for and what's normal, okay??? If you begin having any problems or you think you're having problems down the road, contact me by email or someone else at one of the websites for help or advice. Once Kundalini is activated, it can take on a "life of its own" so don't overdo anything. You can probably also go to yahoo groups and find a group related to kundalini or energy work, ect. Good luck.

Who is the woman dressed in purple and scarlet in Revelation 17 supposed to be?

Revelation 17:4
The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries.
Please state your source if you have a serious answer.

I will NOT give anyone a thumbs down for answering my questions.

admin answers:

I have heard this to be the Roman Catholic church. As I am not ready to rule that out, I have heard other meanings. One was the Seat of Satan. The premise of this is likened to the description of the strange woman in proverbs. It is the system that Satan uses to control and deceive the masses. Either of the two could be correct because the RCC has spread it's influence to the entire world.

What is the percentage of income ♂ drops on a ring?

I know there is an informal formula you are supposed to spend such and such percentage of your income on an engagedment ring. Also if she isn't set on a diamond, how about another precious stone, I have several possibilities???

admin answers:

Don't worry about the three months salary formula unless you can afford it. My fiance makes around $60,000 annually, and three months salary would have been around $15,000! That's absolutely ridiculous for me to be walking around with a $15,000 ring on my finger when the two of us are living on his $60,000 income and paying off student debt and a mortgage. He spent what he could afford and bought me a beautiful ring. It cost him $1500 and is gorgeous. When we went looking at rings, the average cost of the ones at the stores we went to were around $2000 - $6000. Unless you have a fat bank account, I would stick with something affordable and still beautiful. If you are looking for a ballpark range or an average so you don't pick out a ring a lot cheaper than what the average one costs, then go for something for $2000 - $5000 or so. But if you can't afford that, then get something cheaper. A precious stone would be cheaper than a diamond, and can still be very nice as an engagement ring, but make sure that fits your girlfriend's taste before going that route. I personally would have been disappointed had my fiance bought a precious stone ring only because I really wanted a traditional diamond ring. But many women love precious stones as well.

Good luck, and remember not to spend more than you can afford! And only buy with cash - don't put it on credit or a loan.

What is the best way to clean silver jewellary?

I've got a silver charm bracelet and it has been kept in a box for a few years and now it looks dull and lacklustre, it has got a charm on each link and some of them have precious stones in them.

admin answers:

I use toothpaste and a toothbrush (soft bristle, just for this), to clean all of my jewelry. Use a bowl or be sure to close the sink plug (I dropped a favorite earring down the sink drain once). Wet the jewelry, put a dab of toothpaste and gently scrub, rinse in running water and place on a towel to dry. Works great!
