Lisa asks…

how do i drill a hole through semi precious stones for necklaces?

admin answers:

I don't advise using a Dremel tool just because one slip and you've ruined a semiprecious stone. There are tool sets out there made specifically for lapidary use which are far more precise. But my best suggestion is to look up your local lapidary society member. They'll frequently do special order work for you and you don't have to invest in a set of tools.

When will there not be any precious stones left on Earth to be mined ?

admin answers:

MANY of the Earth's precious gems and such are WAY too deep to mined by today's technology. Unless we find a way to mine 5-6 more miles down, in any conditions, there will always be SOME gems left.

Need to drill semi precious stones for jewellery, where can I get this done in Toronto?

Why don't you just do it yourself? It's easy to drill semi precious stones if you have a small lathe or even a drill press.
